Yastaah

From Maragua we hiked one more mountain till we reached the touristic site of dinosaur footprints. It takes a couple of hours to visit that before to come back on the main road to Potolo. After that it's just about walking in the nature. We didn't meet anyone for about a couple of hours. That was cool. Till it started hailing hard. It has been a hard half an hour as there was no house or cave where get some repair. We just kept walking. At least the waterproof stuff we carried wasn't useless 😥😥 Manuella was not feeling good, so we started singing Italian songs to keep the spirit up. It actually worked 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 The rain and hail last just 30 minutes. We could enjoy the last 2 hours. But in Potolo we basically died on the bench of the main square. From that bridge (please see previous post) we started hiking the mountain. There are a number of paths. At some point all of them gathered in just one. But when we had to cross the top of the mountain we realized that the path was interrupted. We started going around to try to bypass the top but it took time and it was getting dark. Surprisingly we saw a person walking close to a rural house. We asked for the direction to Maragua. The man didn't speak Spanish. But now it was too late to go anyway. He took us at his house where we met his wife and his daughter. The Quechua family offered us the dinner (mais and then a super tasty hot soup of mais) and went to sleep. No electricity, so no way to see anything. We slept in the room with the old couple while the daughter slept in another room. They woke up with the sunrise. With a French girl and an Italian guy met at the hostel, we decided to go trekking through the famous Camino del Inca, then visiting the crater of Maragua and eventually Potolo for the dinosaurs footsteps. Two days if everything was ok. Obviously no guide, altrough it is possible and highly recommended. Took the bus early in the morning from Sucre to Chataquila. The landscape was beautiful so the 2 hours descending the Camino del Inca flow by. Some rest in Chaunaca, paid the 10 Bolivianos to pass through, and we took the road to Maragua. Everyone warned us. There are 2 routes and the easiest is just walk down the main road. The other one would take us to nowhere as the path is not clearly marked.  We needed to walk along a river and then cross a bridge and start hiking a mountain. Guess what?
