Baños is the first city I visited in Ecuador. It's very famous between the travellers and now I know why. Plenty of activities to go for and quite cheap too, which is not at all a bad thing 😂 If you like iconic places, then you can't miss the Casa del Arbor. Here you will be swinging at an altitude of almost 3000mt, watching the amazing landscape. The picture is mandatory although the reality is much different from what it appears 🙃 In my few days there, I rented a bike and went straight to the Ruta de las Cascadas,  waterfall road. In less than 20km you see 7 waterfalls. Some of them from the street,  some others after a short walk. Riding a bike has been a lot of fun as it's a whole way down,  so you don't need to be a professional cyclist 😜 I've ridden also on the way back but you can ask bus drivers to take it back in town. It will cost just a couple of dollars. It has been definitely the best thing I've done there....

If you are an adventurous travel and want to go to Iquitos by boat, and you are in Peru, you will need to go to Tarapoto, from there take a bus to Yurimaguas (about 2hrs) and there you will have 2 options. Fast boat goes everyday at 8pm. It costs 150 soles (included food) and it takes 17hrs to reach Nauta. Then take a 2hrs bus to Iquitos. Slow boat doesn't go every day. It's a cargo ship so you need to wait them to load and unload it. There are a couple per week. But you never know when they leave exactly. You just need to speak with the captain. It takes 3 nights to reach Iquitos, for 100soles, including food. You will need to buy a tapperwear and a spoon for the food they provide, and an hammock where you will sleep, although there are people sleeping on the floor. I took the fast one: my cousin from Italy was on holiday in Peru for a couple of weeks and just 2days in Iquitos, so I could not wait. It is like travelling by bus. Super boring. Iquitos is the largest city in the world not reachable by land. It is right into the middle of the Peruvian Amazon. You need to fly there or go by boat. I took the boat. Iquitos itself is not that good. The Belem and the Bellavista markets are the best in town. But if you want to go wild you will need to book a tour. And you know how I don't like it. One more thing to do in Iquitos is to take the Ayahuasca, an hallucinogens medicine, with a shaman. Plenty of choice. At the Belem market I spoke to a random guy and arranged a boat trip to go fishing piranhas. That was great! But I've also booked a tour. We slept one night in the jungle and could choose few activities. We went fishing piranhas, mud bathing, a morning and a night walk through the jungle chasing wild animals. In general, if you can spend more time into the jungle, I'd suggest to stop in Nauta or go to Lagunas, a little town reachable by boat. If you want to go with an agency, the longer ...
